I will ashamedly admit that I am horrible with metrics; I hate it. So if there is something needed in a recipe that was in grams, I would always get my computer and convert it in Google. This scale gave me so much more freedom to bake/cook freely without interruptions. What's more, I could have my mise en place done in totality.

Another great feature about this scale is the tare feature; In preparing the mise en place, I could put the measuring cup or spoon on the scale and then zero it again so it doesn't take the measurement of the utensil when I add the ingredient. That way you know you are getting a correct reading.

Another area I normally have issues with that this has remedied mostly, is online postage and pickup. I would be guessing how much the package weighed or using a bathroom scale that would constantly change. Often, I would have to wait until it was convenient to try and make it to the post office before I would get anything sent off, hence why not much of anything got sent. This scale has saved me so much worry and time by allowing me to do smaller packages with correct weight so I can make a drop if I'll be on the road or have the mail person pick up at home.

I tend to have very dry hair if I don't add some form of moisture daily to my hair. I was excited to try this garlic press because I tend to buy garlic in bulk and it gets tedious chopping that much garlic. When I first applied for this I wondered if I could really use it for as much as I thought because I thought it might have been a cheap press. Upon receipt of the press, I was surprised that the package was much heavier than I expected it to be. So I was pleasantly surprised and that was a great start!

 

At first use, I tried it to see if I could crush the garlic without peeling the garlic. I was pleased that it peeled the garlic and still pressed it through. However, it was also was a little bit hard to clean the skin from the receptacle. Still beats peeling pounds of garlic though. The next thing I tried was peeling some of the cloves before using the press. It was somewhat easier to press through without the skin, but it still left a thin film in the receptacle.

 

If you dislike peeling garlic, then the press will work wonderfully for you. If you are doing small amounts of garlic, as in only pressing garlic at the time you need it, and not storing garlic as I do, then this is perfect for you.

 

The video had said that you need both hands to press the garlic so I was expecting to have to press really hard. I ended up using just one hand to press the garlic though there was some effort required. All in all, I love this press and have used it multiple times already since receiving it. My only request for this press is that the receptacle be made bigger, or at least offer different sizes.

Like a lot of other women, I wanted to lose some weight. I had already been thinking about switching to being vegan so when I got the opportunity to review this book, I was excited. So what did I think of this book?

Honestly, at first I would say "this is some of the dumbest things I've ever read in my life. How could this possibly change the way I react?" But as I read the different sections, that was one of the excuses given as to why one may not succeed; we get in our own way. So I decided to put aside how I felt and try it for the sake of my children, first and foremost and then myself.

I really wanted to stop yelling so I decided to give it a try. I must say that even upon the first attempt upon implementing some of the methods given in the book, I noticed the difference; even if only because I felt too silly to be angry. I decided to try it for an entire week before even attempting to begin a review so I could give a fair assessment.

I must say that aside from the "prayer" in the book, I have been pleasantly surprised that these methods actually work. My children come talk to me freely with no fear of mommy being upset now.
